Russia is increasing the volume of oil drilling

In 2023, Russia was able to set a post-Soviet record for drilling oil production wells.
The drilling volume amounted to over 30 thousand km, which exceeds previous figures. In 11 months of 2023, the number of wells launched also exceeded the results of 2022, reaching 7.93 thousand, and the number of completed wells almost equaled the record of the last five years.
However, experts warn of potential long-term problems. A high level of drilling activity in static production may indicate the need to maintain production in depleted fields.
