Inteco Group summed up the results of the pilot project implementation to improve oil recovery based on injecting a 3-component mixture of anionic surfactant, soda and polymer into the reservoir.
Anionic surfactant reduces the surface tension of the oil.
Soda changes the electric charge of the rock, which reduces the loss of surfactants.
The polymer is used to increase the viscosity of the solution.
The technology is already widely used in the US, Canada and China, and pilot studies are being conducted in a number of other countries, for example, in Oman.
