World news: The Netherlands has completed gas production at Europe’s largest field in Groningen

After 60 years of operation, The Hague has closed the floodgates of Europe’s largest field.
Residents of nearby settlements constantly complained about repeated earthquakes, the cause of which is associated with intensive exploitation of the soil, pockets of vacuum formed during the extraction of gas from this field, which has been in operation since 1963.
The government assured that in exceptional cases, the valves can be reopened next year.
